One Thousand Gifts 51-100

I love things that inspire me and this blog did and that is why I am starting my own Gift List!

51. Jim is painting our front door. I love fresh new paint. It is just so cheerful and clean. I love that he wants and enjoys doing these kinds of things around our home. I love white glossy woodwork. Appreciating a clean comfortable home is a gift worth working for.
52. It is a gift to have electricity in our lives. I cannot imagine life without it. At every turn we are using it for something. What a blessing.
53. I am thankful for a husband who tells me often he appreciates what I do. It is a gift to be recognized and thanked for our efforts.
54. I am thankful for weekends, love them and getting to be in church and learn about the Lord and his tender mercies to all of us. Being aware of our blessings is what brings miracles and more happiness into our lives. 2/5/11
55. I love texting with our Chris and Jen. Especially with Jen because we do it often and it allows us a few uninterrupted moments a day that just belong to us. Cannot wait until Laura also has texting on her phone too.
56. Today I am thankful for the gift of my two brothers and their beautiful wives my adopted sisters. We had a wonderful get together and shared dinner and conversation. We do it all too rarely so I really treasure when we do get together. I always envision that our parents are looking down from heaven and feeling happy for the love we share with each other. 2/6/11
57. I am thankful for a fervent prayer that was answered today almost immediately after Jim said it I was feeling so much better. 2/6/11
58. Today I am thankful for one of my most precious gifts, Chloe Jane and her parents for adopting her and bringing her into our lives forever. She lost her top front tooth in church today and she is graduating into intermediate childhood. She has been such a beautiful delight to our family. Her life would have been completely different if the adoption had not occurred and so would ours have been. 2/6/11
59. Jim gifted us with a nice clean car to go to Napa in today. It was such a joy and everything looked brilliant out those invisible windows! 2/6/11
60. I am so happy that Jim loves working at the Temple once a week. He loves the camaraderie with his new friends and working in that holy place. And, it gives me a day of solitude and reflection that I need each week. Win/Win. 2/6/11.
61. The gift of healing. So many people have been in dire straights and are doing so much better thanks to the fervent prayers of many. Hazie, is so much better, Deanna is so much better, Zach and Connor are better.
62 The gift of having a body that will heal naturally through the mechanics of each cell and organ. The Master's creation.
63. Photographs, I love to take pictures and look at them often. The gift of capturing a moment that might otherwise be forgotten over time.
64. The gift of something new that makes you feel pretty or comforted or just plain happy!
65. The gift of having a few people in your life that get you. They understand and love you all the same! You know your name is safe with them.
66. The gift of organic fruits and vegetables so that you are safe from pesticides that kill the effects of your valiant efforts to eat better.
67. The melodies of little birds high in the treetops.
68. The gift of wounds that heal.
69. Modern conveniences that free up time to do the important things, the fun things, the enriching things and to serve which includes all of the above.
70. The gift of color. I would be sad to live in a world of black and white.
71. Who could have a list of gifts without mentioning chocolate?
72. The gift of having some savings to fall back on for that rainy day that eventually comes our way. Saying no to credit card balances. 2/22/11
72 I have the gift of a very special secret pal that is doing Weight Watchers with me and I love sharing it with her. The program is great now, very livable.
73. I am so grateful to have lost nearly a stone since I started WW in January. It is amazing how the Lord just works with us and helps us along the way.
74. The gift that Lowell is taking Jen to Edinburgh for a little vacation just makes my heart soar. I have seen the need for this kind of rest in them both for a long time. Does a mother's heart ever stop thinking about her kids, their needs, their sorrows, their joys? I hope not.
75. I am so happy to have eyes that can see the beauty around me. Spring is just simply breathtaking, rain or shine. Best with shine, however!
76. Ann Voskamp, this woman is the guru of gratitude. I am constantly milling over in my mind something she has written. My new favorite quote, "Faith Gets Out Of The Boat!"
77. I love Thursdays, the days I get to go away with my hubby for a fun day trip each week. We have been having so much fun lately, just hanging out and doing the simple things in life. Simplicity is a gift.
78. The gift of a phone call from our son today. I miss him so much, he is the perfect young man, I feel so blessed to be his mom.
79. I love that I have the gift of waking up happy almost every single day. I know that is not the case for many. I wish it was. If you can wake up happy you can seize and conquer the day.
80. I am thankful for the gift of the desire to write. I love it and it makes me feel so fulfilled. When I don't do it regularly I feel out of sorts and something important is missing from my day.
3/3/11.
81. Today I am thankful for the gift of Cold-Eze. I just detest getting colds because often it ends up with complications for me with fluid on my inner ear, dizziness, etc. But Cold-Eze often just makes the whole thing go away when I catch it very. So yay, Cold-Eze!
82. I love trees. I saw and photographed the prettiest weeping willow tree today.
83. I love it when friends ask for my help in their design work! Can make an old fossil feel more relevant.
84. My husband is a gift, pure and simple.
85. Double paned, vinyl windows are completely awesome!
86. Brighton and Silpada Jewelry~Beautiful and exceptional value.
87. My Friday Friends, Maureen, Connie and Lanette.
88. The gift of freedom to move about in our country and out with few restrictions.
89. I love the gift of hearing a grandchild tell you they love you and don't want you to leave them when you have to. So sweet! 3/4/11.
90. Airplanes are something I am thankful for and something I would never have dreamed would land on this list. I use to be deathly afraid of flying, well no, crashing. But through a lot of working on my faith I feel very comfortable flying now and am thankful that God has given me the peace I needed to do it so I can travel. 8/1/11
91. I am grateful for the brilliant people in this world, they teach us so much. 8/1/11
92. I am grateful for the gift of my brother Steve. He was just diagnosed with cancer last month and I am grateful there is a high cure rate with the chemo he is taking. He was my birthday gift on my 2nd birthday when he came home from the hospital. 8/1/11
93. I am gifted with having had a very good first year of retirement with Jim. It has been a remarkably easy adjustment for both of us. 8/1/11
94 The gift of pandora.com. Love the online radio station where you can create your own channels. 8/1/11

96. Google. 8/1/11
97. Understanding friends, oh I do love them. 8/1/11

  1. How did I miss this page? I guess that having bad eyes for so long, I couldn't see very much of what was going on my friends sidebars.

This is such a wonderful idea. I was fascinated by all the things that are in your heart. The licorice from (Ireland?) reminded me of the popcorn you ate with licorice flavoring when you were traveling recently.

I'm going to come back after work and read some more!

    Deanna :D

  2. Hi Bon,
Thanks for your long comment, loved it!
Yea, we were so hoping the Lord was saving the job as a surprise for Jim's birthday, but guess not....we are really okay with whatever, it would just be nice to know one way or the other.
Don't know why they can't just tell you something! But I guess we should consider no
news, as good news I guess!

Checked out your list, some of it anyway, will have to come back and read some more later.
A great list by the way!
We just finished our chocolate covered cherries yesterday, boo hoo!! lol That would have surely been on my gift list!!

Know you will be glad when your Jim is back,
how is everything going with the camp by the way?? Sure hope Jen and Lowell are having the time of their life, they sure deserve that!!

I was thinking it sure is too bad Laura can't move out near you and stay while Robert is gone,
that would be a huge help to her I am sure, and I am sure your grandsons would love it too!!

Well, gonna go watch a movie and exercise on the gazelle!!

    Love ya Sweetie,
    Nellie
